The countable half

Brand strategy has a measurable half. Start there.

Voice and story are craft. Whether anyone searches your name is arithmetic.
If you searched "brand strategy"

What we measured about it: 5,400 times a month of demand, answered with archetypes; the countable half (your name-demand share) goes unmentioned.

Run on your market, a read shows: how often the market types your name versus every rival, which associations carry real volume, and your real search demand under every phrasing, which AI answers in your market are open, partial or closed (with the evidence), what your competitors run in the public ad archives, and your break-even numbers computed from your own economics.

"Brand strategy" is searched about 5,400 times a month in the US at difficulty 26 of 100 (top bid $12.21); "brand development and strategy" adds 5,400 searches a month and "brand positioning" 1,900 searches a month. The answers discuss archetypes and voice. Almost none of them mention the one brand metric a search engine hands you for free: how often the market types your name. measured

Brand demand is a number

We measured a challenger brand at about 100 against 6,600: the market typed its competitor sixty-six times for every one time it typed them. No archetype workshop surfaces that; a ten-dollar measurement does. Brand-name demand, its trend, and its share against every named rival is the scoreboard half of brand strategy, and it updates monthly whether you look or not.

What the countable half buys the craft half

When you know your name-demand share, the craft decisions get targets: which associations to build (the phrasings with volume), which category word to attach your name to, and whether the story is landing (the trend line answers). Craft without the count is decoration; the count without craft is a scoreboard for a game nobody is playing. You need both, and only one of them is usually missing.
